Empatika is currently looking for:
1. Finance and Operations Officer
The Finance and Operations Officer will be responsible for overseeing and managing the financial, operational, and resource aspects of Empatika’s activities.
Duration: Initial 1-Year Fixed-Term Contract
Based in Denpasar, Bali, this role will provide direct support to Empatika’s directors to ensure cost-effective, timely, and compliant project delivery. The Officer will work closely with department heads and project officers, managing day-to-day project and office operations. This includes tasks such as managing, preparing, and monitoring project budgets, and supporting activities related to research, training, programs, and capacity-building initiatives. The position will report directly to Empatika’s Executive Director. Please see the TOR for more details.
Skills and Background needed:

A degree in Accounting, Finance, or Management.

Minimum of three years of experience in accounting, financial administration, and tax management.

Demonstrated experience in budget drafting, monitoring, and reporting for projects and organizational operations.

Experience in supporting projects, including project management and financial oversight.

Strong knowledge of Indonesian tax regulations is highly desirable.

Experience with and familiarity in using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Keysoft, or Kledo is preferred.

Advanced computer skills using office software, including Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, etc.) and Microsoft Office.

Strong, proactive communication skills.

Written and spoken proficiency in English, given our international team and partners.

Knowledgeable in office administration.

2. Qualitative Lead Researcher (ongoing)​
If you are strong believer in research and projects that spend time to get to know the communities they work in and understand the local context, this is for you!
The Lead Researcher is to ensure the high-quality technical design and delivery of all aspects of a study, from the proposal stage until the final report. Lead Researcher also oversees studies and is not limited to participating in the studies by Empatika, also take on other roles as project directors and related work.

Skills and Background needed:

Demonstrated experience implementing and designing qualitative research, essential.

Experience designing or implementing participatory research approaches, preferred.

Experience engaging with quantitative research components or leading quantitative data collection exercises, desirable.

Experience managing research studies or projects, including team coordination and logistics, desirable.

Experience implementing studies or projects in an international context (outside Indonesia), desirable.

Education background in social sciences or humanities (S2 or above), preferred.

Experience working with bilateral or multi-lateral donors, preferred, and demonstrated client-management skills, essential.

Strong presentation and research communication skills, preferred.
